To be eligible for admission to the first year of any of the School of Engineering Undergraduate Course of the University w.e.f. academic session 2012-13, a candidate must fulfill the following minimum eligibility criteria.
Should have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education /Haryana Board of School Education with Mathematics, Physics as Compulsory subjects alonwith one of the subjects Viz Chemistry, Computer Science/Bio Technology/Biology, or equivalent examination from a recognized board with an overall aggregate of 60%marks.
Additionally, the candidate should have appeared and secured a valid Rank in AIEEE/MVN University Entrance Test or Other Entrance Test as specified in Admission Brochure in the year of admission.

Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline it is traditionally broken into several sub-disciplines including environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, transportation engineering, municipal or urban engineering, water resources engineering, materials engineering, coastal engineering. Civil engineering takes place on all levels: in the public sector from municipal through to national governments, and in the private sector from individual homeowners through to international companies. General civil engineering is also referred to as site engineering, a branch of civil engineering that primarily focuses on converting a tract of land from one usage to another. Civil engineers typically apply the principles of geotechnical engineering, structural engineering, environmental engineering, transportation engineering and construction engineering to residential, commercial, and industrial and public works projects of all sizes and levels.
The Department of Civil Engineering is having well established laboratories. Laboratory courses are designed to support theoretical concepts taught. All the laboratories are equipped well. Project works, dissertation works and thesis works are supported by the laboratories. The Department is associated with technocrats, who have excelled in varied fields ranging from academics to project management, designing earthquake resistant structures to constructing bridges, managing the ever changing needs of our developing country. The field visits to Real Estate and Infrastructure Constructions are value additions to facilitate the practical feel of the subject. Specially trained human resources at Department of Civil Engineering, will handle critical areas in System planning, Design and Rehabilitation, management of the infrastructure for giving much needed impetus for economic development and improve quality of life, meeting the societal needs. The department offers B. Tech program with specialization in Structural Management, Water Resources & Hydrology, and Environment Engineering & Geo Technology.
